Thorncombe Rail Activities Club

TRAC was formed in 2000 and has an active and growing membership living in West Dorset, East Devon and South Somerset. We meet at Thorncombe Village Hall in West Dorset, but conveniently close to the border with Devon and Somerset. The towns of Seaton, Lyme Regis, Honiton, Chard, Bridport, Axminster, Ilminster and Crewkerne are only a short distance away. Our members have varied interests, so whether you model railways, or prefer the real thing, or have a particular interest in steam, diesel or electric railways, we are sure you will find membership of TRAC to be of value. There are no age or gender barriers, although younger members under 14 should be accompanied by a responsible adult.

WHAT HAPPENS AT MEETINGS:
We hold monthly meetings which usually consist of a speaker and presentation on a railway-related topic, followed by a refreshment break, then a question and answer session with the guest speaker. There are also displays of railway interest provided by members, and recent meetings have seen the appearance of model railway layouts brought along by members. A prize raffle is also held, and all proceeds from this and membership payments go towards the hire of the hall and paying the costs of our guest speakers. Members and guests are encouraged to bring along any items of railway interest for others to see and discuss. Please read meeting reports here. Or have a look at some photos taken on our recent outings here

MEMBERSHIP DETAILS:
Membership is £10.00 per annum and is open to everyone, and includes admission to all meetings held at the Village Hall, and the opportunity to take part in TRAC trips to outside attractions in July & August. If you are unable to become a member of the group, we are quite happy for you to attend our meetings on a guest basis and pay a small charge on the door.
